About the position

The Head Men's Soccer Coach at Taylor University is responsible for leading and managing the Men's Soccer team, focusing on recruitment, training, and the overall development of student-athletes. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the program, including budget management, fundraising, and fostering spiritual growth among team members, while ensuring compliance with university policies and athletic guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all coaching duties for the athletic program, including recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes.
  • Provide technical expertise in the fundamentals of soccer.
  • Create an environment consistent with the values of Taylor University and the Athletic Department.
  • Develop a strategy to identify and recruit student-athletes focused on athletic performance, academic excellence, and spiritual development.
  • Organize, schedule, prepare, and conduct all individual and team practices, training, and competitions.
  • Monitor academic progress of each participating student-athlete and provide opportunities for academic assistance if required.
  • Manage daily operations of the athletic program including budgeting and fundraising.
  • Direct, supervise, and coordinate the work of assistant coaches, providing guidance on university policy and coaching philosophy.
  • Innovate ways to continually improve the program in support of team unity and spiritual development.
  • Represent Taylor University and the sports program to various institutional programs and externally as appropriate.
  • Ensure program compliance with university policy, conference rules, and NAIA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least three to five years' experience in coaching at the intercollegiate level preferred, or extensive player experience at the collegiate level can substitute for coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the sport.
