About the position

The Head of AML Model Management and Emerging Risk at TD Bank is a strategic leadership role within the Financial Crimes & Fraud Management (FCRM) team. This position is responsible for developing a comprehensive model and technology roadmap for Transaction Monitoring systems, focusing on detecting and mitigating financial crime risks. The role involves managing a team of professionals, leveraging data analytics to identify emerging risks, and ensuring compliance with AML regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a model and technology roadmap for Transaction Monitoring systems.
  • Monitor emerging financial crime patterns and typologies.
  • Leverage data analytics and models to detect, prevent, and mitigate FCRM and sanctions risks.
  • Provide people management leadership, including hiring, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Develop data-driven capabilities to identify emerging financial crime risks.
  • Lead the management of vendor and in-house models across the customer lifecycle.
  • Present findings and identify risk mitigation opportunities to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks requiring further investigation to FCRM Operations.
  • Collaborate with FCRM Advisory teams to provide compliance risk insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience in AML, model management, or risk management.
  • Significant exposure to Transaction Monitoring systems (Actimize, SAS, Oracle, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of financial crime typologies, red flags, and AML regulations in the US.
  • Solid analytical and modeling skills with strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
