About the position

The Head of Applied Machine Learning at Applied Intuition is responsible for leading a team of machine learning and software engineers to implement and productionize advanced machine learning research. This role aims to position the company as a leader in vehicle software solutions, focusing on generative AI techniques and collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative AI-native products for the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and mentor a team of world-class machine learning and software engineers.
• Drive the vision of AI within the company, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define new product areas.
• Work closely with the research team to bring new ideas to production.
• Leverage advancements in machine learning to develop new AI-native products for autonomy development and vehicle interaction.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, robotics, or related fields from a top institution.
• 5+ years working in the machine learning field.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with large multimodal models, diffusion, or 3D reconstruction technologies.
• Programming experience in Python.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working directly with end users.
• Peer-reviewed research at machine learning conferences like NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV/ECCV, IROS, ICRA.
• Experience building software for technical end users.
• A Master's degree or PhD in computer science, machine learning, robotics, or related fields.
