About the position

The Head of Business Operations and Sales Growth at Google plays a pivotal role in the Google Customer Solutions (GCS) Sales and Strategy teams. This position is responsible for providing business-critical insights through analytics, ensuring that there is cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helping teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. The focus is on driving sustainable business growth and product adoption while aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations. The role also involves evolving early-stage ideas into future-growth initiatives, which is essential for maintaining Google's competitive edge in the market. As a trusted advisor and competitive seller, the GCS sales teams maintain a relentless focus on customer success, particularly for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). This role offers the opportunity to work closely with company owners, making a significant impact on their businesses by helping them grow. The position is not just about driving sales; it’s about shaping the future of innovation for customers, partners, and sellers, all while fostering a fun and engaging work environment. The successful candidate will be expected to drive annual business planning for GCS, which includes critical organization conception and redesign in service of strategy. They will own all aspects of strategy, management, and optimization for GCS, collaborating closely with Finance, Recruiting, and Sales. Additionally, the Head of Business Operations and Sales Growth will lead large analytical projects that yield actionable insights, oversee sales performance projects and reporting, and lead team onboarding, development, and growth to meet strategic business goals and operational priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive annual Business Planning for GCS, including critical organization conception and redesign in service of strategy.
  • Own all aspects of strategy, management and optimization for GCS collaboration with Finance, Recruiting, and Sales.
  • Lead large analytical projects for GCS in service of actionable, implementable insights.
  • Lead sales performance projects and reporting.
  • Lead team onboarding, development, and growth to deliver on strategic business goals and operational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate advisory experience, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
  • 4 years of experience in a people management role.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA degree or Master's degree in an analytical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in advertising, consultative sales, business development, or a digital media environment for a complex organization.
  • 2 years of experience creating complex data sets, data modeling, and reporting.
  • Ability to effectively influence, communicate and drive change, often cross-functionally, with multiple stakeholders at all levels of management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation development skills with the ability to take complex, ambiguous topics and turn them into stories that influence an audience.
