About the position

The Head of Ceded Placement will lead the reinsurance purchasing strategy for North America at SiriusPoint, ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements while managing the overall placement processes. This role is pivotal in achieving placement outcomes that align with the company's objectives and involves regular engagement with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the reinsurance purchasing strategy in conjunction with the Global Head of Ceded Reinsurance.
• Accountable for placement outcomes that meet SiriusPoint's objectives and comply with governance and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the overall placement processes from initiation to completion, ensuring successful placements subject to governance and approvals.
• Produce reinsurance submissions and manage data calls from Brokers/Reinsurers.
• Engage regularly with internal business colleagues and external local relationships.
• Review reinsurance documents for completeness according to negotiated terms and conditions and Contract Certainty requirements.
• Monitor adherence to purchasing protocols.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty & Specialty lines.
• A minimum of 7 - 10 years of Reinsurance buying or related experience.
• Knowledge of reinsurance contract wordings.
• Excellent communication skills.
