About the position

As the Head of Commercial for Viral Vectors at MilliporeSigma, you will lead the Viral Vector Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) Sales team. This role is pivotal in executing the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and sales tactics for the Viral Vector offerings. You will be responsible for negotiating and closing complex business deals, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the team meets or exceeds yearly orders and revenue targets. This position offers a full remote opportunity and requires a strong focus on customer relationships and market share expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the VV CDMO Sales team and execute the go-to-market strategy for Viral Vector offerings.
  • Drive the execution of a high-performing Business Development Sales team to build a healthy portfolio of VV customer programs.
  • Identify and address performance issues within the VV sales organization and set high standards across the team.
  • Build a revenue backlog that enables the VV business to deliver against the Operating Plan.
  • Provide industry insights and subject matter expertise to contribute to strategy definition and OP planning.
  • Collaborate closely with VV modality leads and operational functions to drive profitability metrics.
  • Establish and maintain influential relationships at all levels with clients, particularly at senior VP/CEO levels.
  • Build collaborations with clients for long-term relationships to fulfill their strategic manufacturing objectives.

Requirements

  • Exceptional commercial leadership experience in viral vector development, manufacturing, and analytics from a CDMO or Biopharma company.
  • Experience in executing go-to-market strategies and building a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
  • Ability to negotiate and close complex business deals effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze market competition and trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce.com for tracking opportunities and performance.
  • Ability to provide reports on projects, prospects, forecasts, and orders won/lost analysis.
  • Experience in managing budgets against lead performance targets.
