This position involves leading a small team of ML engineers, optimizing data-driven strategies, and integrating new models to enhance the company's products and services. The role requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise and strategic leadership to drive impactful results in a rapidly growing labor marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of ML engineers and grow a global team over time.
• Spend 70% of your time hands-on building and integrating new models and 30% defining ML strategy and managing the team.
• Optimize the team for speed and impact.
• Own a portfolio of platforms for day-to-day execution, including MLOps and data transformation pipelines.
• Deliver best-in-class technical approaches and problem analysis documents.
• Impact key company objectives by collaborating with Product to refine the roadmap.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor product performance.
• Act as a data evangelist to foster a data-driven culture and mentor analysts.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields.
• 12-15+ years of experience in quantitative analysis and machine learning.
• Expert level fluency in Python and SQL for data manipulation.
• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and their applications.
• Advanced statistical techniques knowledge, including regression and clustering.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with executive presence.
• Experience as a technical lead or manager of small-to-medium sized teams.
• Working knowledge of web/mobile architectures and CI/CD processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degrees (PhD or Masters) in relevant fields.
• Experience with BI tools like Mode, Tableau, or Looker.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with startup and large-scale experience.
• Understanding of two-sided marketplaces and complex business models.
