The Head of District Sales is a leadership role focused on driving growth for Pearson's School Assessment business. This position requires a results-driven leader who will set the district sales strategy, develop consumer relationships, and execute contracts to meet revenue expectations. The role involves managing district sales staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and building relationships with external partners to enhance revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the District Strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities in the educational assessment market
  • Establish relationships with key decision makers
  • Collaborate with marketing to launch new marketing campaigns
  • Work closely with delivery pre-sales and post-contract implementation teams
  • Assist customers with legislative language development
  • Develop proposals for new accounts
  • Negotiate contracts with new accounts
  • Attend industry conferences or trade shows for business development
  • Oversee District Sales staff and establish sales operations processes
  • Maintain relationships with client personnel
  • Identify new services to benefit clients and increase revenue
  • Work with Pearson personnel to qualify business opportunities
  • Provide leadership to the district sales organization
  • Inspire team members and foster a collaborative work environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an education or business-related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years directing large-scale assessment programs
  • Knowledgeable of educational testing business
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales and marketing relationships
  • Proven ability to help education clients develop new assessment methods
  • Experience managing customer relationships
  • Proven leadership in cultivating a high-performance culture
  • Persuasive and influential communication skills
  • Proven technical writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
