About the position

The Head of Engineering will lead the engineering team at a prominent asset management firm in the digital assets industry. This role focuses on adopting emerging technologies, managing the technology stack, and making strategic decisions regarding SaaS solutions versus proprietary builds. The position emphasizes continuous improvement in engineering practices and collaboration across various teams to align on project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering CI/CD processes and manage the technology stack.
  • Oversee the technical documentation process and drive the adoption of new engineering practices for continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for a long-term tech roadmap that enhances scalability and reduces operational burden.
  • Work with the lead architect to build systems balancing robustness and design simplicity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, operations, and security) to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Drive technical discussions, tech document reviews, and code assessments for high-quality solutions.
  • Align and influence the roadmap of enterprise data applications and drive execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for new engineers.
  • Oversee engineering and offshore quality assurance teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 10-12 years in software engineering, including experience in system design, architecture, and scaling.
  • Experience managing tech managers, tech leads, and senior individual contributors.
  • Experience with .NET, AWS, IaaC, distributed data frameworks, Python, and data processing tools such as PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Databricks.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps and continuous integration tools.
  • Strong Agile proficiency with practical application to deliver incremental, high-quality solutions.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry and/or financial services or fintech.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.
