About the position

The Head of Gas Origination is responsible for leading the Gas Origination Team at TotalEnergies, focusing on identifying, evaluating, and executing commercial transactions across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream value chains. This role involves developing and implementing gas and NGL market strategies, managing contract negotiations, and ensuring optimal coordination between various internal teams. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the company's transition to new energies and decarbonization efforts, while maintaining key industry relationships and representing TotalEnergies in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a Gas Origination Team to identify, evaluate, and close commercial, multimodity transactions.
  • Lead a team that works directly with external counterparties and TotalEnergies affiliates.
  • Coordinate with the global General Manager GPE Trading to develop and implement gas and NGL market strategies.
  • Develop, encourage, and mentor the Origination Team to improve overall performance and ensure KPIs are met.
  • Directly manage and influence contract negotiation, deal structuring, and execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Trading, Operations, Business Development, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Accounting.
  • Interface with TotalEnergies Affiliates' Management teams for business reviews and contract updates.
  • Maintain key industry relationships and represent TotalEnergies as the primary commercial face to the market.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Energy Business related to Trading, Marketing, & Business Development.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, negotiate, coordinate, and execute various multimodity deals.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Energy Business across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Value Chain.
  • Established network of industry relationships.
  • Strong analytical and technical capabilities, with familiarity with credit, legal, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and leadership skills.
