About the position

The Investment Data Strategy team at Opportunity Investment Management (IM) is seeking a dynamic leader to define and drive the data strategy across various departments. This role involves collaboration with teams in Investment Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Finance, and external partners to optimize governance and decision-making processes. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that enhance the investment data ecosystem and ensure compliance with investment management standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to ensure effective sourcing, aggregating, distributing, and governing of investment data.
• Partner with project and development teams to align solutions with the investment data strategy.
• Drive business value through the delivery and adoption of data governance practices.
• Apply investment knowledge to address data issues and implement enhancements in the data ecosystem.
• Design and implement MassMutual's target operating model for Investment Operations.
• Provide investment portfolio reporting and analysis for various stakeholders including the Portfolio Management team and external rating agencies.
• Oversee the budget for market data and technology suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 12 years of investment data experience
• Experience developing and leading high-performing, diverse teams
• Experience as a leader in an Investment Management function
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Experience in analyzing data using Business Intelligence software such as MicroStrategy, IBM Cognos, Tableau or equivalent tools
• Strong understanding of various types of investment instruments including fixed income, equity securities, alternatives, and derivatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to condense analyses into actionable recommendations.
