About the position

The Global Head of Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering is responsible for overseeing resources and providing technical support for production and sustaining engineering projects within the Delivery Systems and Services (DS&S) business. This role involves managing engineering staff, budgets, project management plans, and workload forecasting, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The leader will develop programs and processes to enhance equipment design and operational efficiency, aligning with business profit and growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive safety and quality practices in engineering and lab environments, focusing on hazardous gases and chemicals.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of gas and chemical delivery systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Execute resource plans in collaboration with Product Engineering and Product Management teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation for projects.
  • Utilize internal engineering resources and external contractors to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and performance feedback to engineering teams in the US, Korea, and Taiwan.
  • Develop processes and tools for efficient technical problem-solving and resource management in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Harmonize engineering processes across a global engineering team.
  • Manage the obsolescence of existing gas and chemical delivery equipment, conducting regular assessments and identifying upgrade opportunities.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop systems for workload transparency and project execution visibility to stakeholders.
  • Manage the engineering department budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years of people management.

  • Proven experience in semiconductor equipment design and installation according to global and regional codes/standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse engineering teams.
