About the position

The role is pivotal in shaping the future of Takeda's Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS) business unit by collaborating with senior leadership to define and execute a business strategy for Takeda's product portfolio. The position involves leading a team of Product Operations Leads and ensuring alignment with Takeda's therapeutic area focus and corporate strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with colleagues in R&D, Therapeutic Area Units, Pharmaceutical Sciences, GMS, Global Quality, and relevant Commercial business units on Product Strategy.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global Product or Portfolio Lifecycle Plan (PLP) in conjunction with Commercial and R&D.
  • Collaborate with Global Operating Units to ensure alignment with product strategies and lifecycle management.
  • Drive product strategy and key tactical decisions for pipeline, launch, and growth-phase products.
  • Ensure global launch strategies are executable and meet quality, compliance, financial, and customer service expectations.
  • Lead long-range capacity planning, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for product supply.
  • Lead and develop a Product Operations Team, focusing on decision-making, portfolio strategy, and cross-functional processes.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in engineering, biological sciences, or pharmacy; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry, with program/project management experience.
  • Experience in leading multicultural, cross-functional teams and complex program efforts.
  • Holistic understanding of the industry, from R&D to Process Development, Operations, Regulatory, Commercial.
  • Expertise in global supply chain planning, manufacturing, and regulatory operations.
  • Knowledge/experience with diverse pharmaceutical processes such as solid dosage, small molecules, API, plasma purification, cell and gene therapy preferred.
  • Willingness to travel, fluency in English, and advanced influencing skills.
