About the position

The Apple Services Engineering team is seeking a senior leader to head the Quality Engineering organization for Commerce & Growth. This role involves overseeing a large team responsible for developing quality engineering systems and tests for various services, ensuring high standards of quality and excellence across platforms like the App Store, Apple TV, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and quality assurance, with a focus on driving quality through automation and effective team management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Quality Engineering organization for Commerce & Growth, managing 100+ full-time employees.
• Develop and implement quality engineering systems and tests for diverse systems operating at a massive scale.
• Drive quality improvements through tools, systems, and automation.
• Recruit, develop, and lead quality teams, setting clear direction and goals.
• Collaborate with other quality and engineering organizations to build partnerships and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate complex concepts effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading quality teams.
• Experience leading large technical organizations.
• Strong background in QA/QE practices and improving quality through processes and automation.
• Technical leadership with a keen sense of architecture.
• Experience leading distributed teams across cultures and time zones.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex concepts concisely.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience testing server-side systems.
• Experience planning and leading software release cycles.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
