About the position

As a Program Manager at Google, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. This position requires you to work closely with various stakeholders to plan project requirements, manage schedules, identify potential risks, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners across the organization. Your projects will often span multiple offices, time zones, and hemispheres, making coordination and timely updates essential to success. You will be responsible for leading the expansion and management of Google's retail store portfolio across North America, driving the store growth strategy, ensuring optimal site selection, and managing the day-to-day operations of the real estate development process to support the brand's growth objectives in the region. In this role, you will conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and dynamics within the North American retail landscape. You will develop and implement a comprehensive retail real estate strategy that aligns with the company's expansion goals. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with landlords will be crucial to unlocking exceptional opportunities and securing prime locations for new stores. You will also be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential locations, ensuring they meet brand standards and market potential. Additionally, you will lead the negotiation of Letters of Intent (LOI) to secure preliminary agreements and set the stage for lease negotiations. Responsibilities

  • Drive the expansion and management of the retail store portfolio across North America.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the retail landscape.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive retail real estate strategy to support expansion goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with landlords to secure prime locations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential locations for new stores, ensuring alignment with brand standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working in the Americas retail market industry, including key retail locations, market trends, and regulatory environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of experience in retail real estate, with 5 years in an executive leadership role.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams, drive results, and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
