About the position

The Head of Sales for the Teplizumab Team is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sales performance and execution excellence in the specialty care and rare disease marketplace. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead a large team to achieve business objectives. The role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, coaching team members, and ensuring alignment with marketing and operational plans. The Head of Sales will lead a team of Regional Business Directors and Key Account Managers, focusing on talent development and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performance sales management team of Regional Business Directors and Key Account Managers to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to elevate account identification and prioritization based on analytics and qualitative insights.
  • Create growth-oriented area account and business plans reflecting strategic choices and resource allocation decisions.
  • Coach Regional Business Directors and establish a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Define key performance indicators and ensure proper targeting of key customers and patient channel engagement.
  • Provide strategy on a hub-and-spoke model and coach RBDs in execution.
  • Build a network for patient identification and uplift referrals from screening partners to treating facilities.
  • Facilitate national-level projects and initiatives to optimize sales team performance.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders across various functions.
  • Maintain adherence to legal, compliance, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years in sales/sales leadership roles or other commercial leadership roles
  • 5+ years of senior-level leadership experience with expanded people management responsibilities
  • Experience in selling and leading sales teams in complex networks
  • Strong analytics, strategic planning, and account management skills
  • Proven experience launching products in specialty care, rare disease, or type 1 diabetes markets
  • Executive communication skills for varied audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years' experience in Type 1 diabetes, rare disease, or specialty care
  • Experience in account-based commercial approaches
  • Experience in launching products and developing sales teams
  • 2-4 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree
