About The Position

The Head of Strategic Initiatives & Operations for Market Access at AstraZeneca will play a pivotal role in leading cross-functional initiatives that enhance the market access strategy for Alexion medicines. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex business environments and drive initiatives that align with the company's goals. The successful candidate will act as the market access lead on various initiatives, collaborating with teams outside of the US Value and Access organization. This includes setting up task forces to tackle strategic initiatives such as emerging payment models, innovative contracting models, landscape research, biosimilar strategy, and relevant legislation that could impact the business. In this role, the Head of Strategic Initiatives & Operations will be responsible for tracking legislation that affects Alexion's business, working closely with government affairs to ensure the company is well-informed and prepared for any changes. The candidate will assess and inform the market access organization about new capabilities and innovations that can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the US Value and Access organization. Additionally, they will lead impact modeling efforts to understand how environmental shifts and marketplace dynamics affect the Alexion portfolio of medicines. The position also involves developing market access communications that align with the broader US Commercial Communications strategy. The Head of Strategic Initiatives & Operations will ensure that effective governance processes are in place and will organize major meetings for the Market Access team. Co-leading the development of the annual operating plan with the VP of Market Access, focusing on FTE and project spending, is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the candidate will lead all market access training and compliance initiatives, and in partnership with Access Strategy, will develop and implement strategies for market access congresses, conferences, and sponsorships. Managing the market access budget and ensuring alignment across departments will be crucial for success in this role.
