About the position

The Head of Strategy and Operations for the Commercial Operations and Business Solutions (COBS) organization at Takeda Pharmaceutical is a leadership role focused on driving performance and efficiency within the organization. This position requires a dynamic leader who will partner with the Vice President of Commercial Operations and the COBS Leadership Team to navigate transformative initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The Head of Strategy and Operations will be responsible for enhancing operational effectiveness, managing cross-functional initiatives, and leading special projects aligned with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive COBS programs and processes to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Manage engagement across a broad range of cross-functional, Enterprise initiatives to ensure connectivity and optimize alignment across the COBS/USBU.
  • Actively support COBS culture, engagement, and connectivity.
  • Lead special projects aligned to key strategic priorities across the COBS, ensuring efficient cross-functional communication, project planning, interdependency tracking, risk management, and benefit realization.
  • Prepare executive level reports, briefings, and presentations, managing department process improvement initiatives as required.
  • Work with Finance partners and COBS leaders to ensure budget is effectively managed across the COBS.
  • Coordinate efforts to drive the evolution and implementation of the COBS narrative, including engagement with Business Stakeholders.
  • Support action planning surrounding ongoing engagement survey responses, DE&I initiatives, and other HR related activities.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree required; MS/MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant business experience required.
  • 5+ years experience in project management and operations.
  • 8+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Strong business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and visualization technical expertise.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects.
