About the position

The Head Tennis Coach for Boys & Girls at Westside Community Schools is responsible for overseeing the tennis program, starting with the girls' team in Spring 2025. This role involves teaching tennis fundamentals, game strategies, and promoting a positive environment for student-athletes. The coach will work closely with the Athletic Director and is expected to foster self-confidence, sportsmanship, and strong relationships among athletes, coaches, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the tennis program for both boys and girls, starting with the girls' program.
• Teach tennis fundamentals and skills, as well as game and team strategies.
• Ensure knowledge of tennis rules and host tennis invites.
• Promote participation and self-confidence among athletes.
• Build positive relationships with athletes, students, coaches, and staff members.
• Maintain consistent communication with the Athletic Director.
• Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills and techniques.
• Demonstrate public support and loyalty for coaches.
• Manage pre-contest details effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff, parents, and school staff.
• High school coaching and teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NSAA rules and regulations.
