About the position
Kent Denver School is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Head Coach for the Track & Field Team. This seasonal position is crucial for guiding and developing student-athletes in their athletic pursuits. The ideal candidate will possess a strong coaching philosophy that emphasizes not only athletic performance but also the personal growth and development of each student. Previous coaching experience is essential, as the coach will be responsible for planning and executing practice sessions, developing training programs, and fostering a positive team environment. Strong organizational skills are necessary to manage the logistics of practices and competitions effectively. The Head Coach will communicate regularly with both students and their families, ensuring that all parties are informed about practice schedules, competition details, and any other relevant information. The team practices on weekday afternoons, and the coach will also be expected to travel for competitions, which typically occur on evenings and weekends. This role is not just about coaching; it involves mentoring young athletes, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, and creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages participation and improvement. The position offers a stipend ranging from $5,300 to $6,500 for the season, depending on the candidate's experience. The term for this position is for the Fall Season of 2024.
