About the position

The Head Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach at Father Gabriel Richard High School is responsible for developing student-athletes' skills in volleyball while promoting a Catholic mission of academic excellence and sportsmanship. The coach will work under the supervision of the Athletic Director and collaborate with other sports programs to enhance the overall athletic department. This role emphasizes the importance of forming intentional disciples of Jesus Christ through athletics.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills in volleyball.
• Contribute to the educational program and growth of student-athletes.
• Use various instructional techniques to meet the needs of student-athletes.
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions.
• Work with school staff to plan instructional goals for student-athletes.
• Ensure unity among volleyball coaches and a structured feeder system.
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student-athletes regularly.
• Protect student-athletes, equipment, and facilities during practices and contests.
• Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for participation.
• Coordinate scheduling of competitions with the athletic director.
• Develop and evaluate the coaching program based on ongoing needs.
• Instruct students on NCAA regulations regarding scholarships and recruiting.
• Enforce student discipline during contests and practices.
• Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all athletic participation phases.
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, and school staff.
• Oversee the inventory and maintenance of athletic equipment.
• Establish and meet annual performance goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• A minimum of three years of experience as a head varsity volleyball coach preferred.
• Passionate about forming intentional disciples of Jesus Christ.
