About the position

This is a full-time, 260-day contract position located on the Estherville Campus. Responsible for the day-to-day management and organization of the Women's Volleyball program, including games and practices, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring of team, promotion of current players to four-year institutions, and management of budgets within the program. Success Center Instructional Assistant includes working approximately 20 hours per week in the Estherville Success Center, performing the various duties listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of student-athletes for intercollegiate competition.
  • Daily management of the volleyball program.
  • Recruitment of student-athletes.
  • Academic monitoring of student-athletes.
  • Supervision of graduate assistant.
  • Become familiar with and compliant with NJCAA rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain budgets within the volleyball program.
  • Development of annual volleyball game schedule.
  • Assist with placement of student-athletes at four-year colleges.
  • Appropriately answer questions about college admittance, testing requirements, program course requirements, and the HSED and ESL programs.
  • Connect students with peer tutors.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Academic Success on daily tasks and projects.
  • Attend and participate in athletic department fundraising activities.
  • Attendance at monthly coaching staff meetings.
  • Maintain progress reports and student records/files.
  • Other duties as assigned within the Estherville campus Success Center and campus Library.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required in preferred fields in education, English, mathematics, or science.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience as Head Volleyball Coach and/or college player desired.
  • Student services experience preferred.
