About the position

The Head of Workforce and Capacity Optimization at BioLife Plasma Services is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing strategies, processes, and tools to optimize plasma collection capacity and workforce management, ensuring productivity goals and cost improvements are met. The position requires strong leadership in managing workforce optimization programs, including budgeting, forecasting, and analytics, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align efforts with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive plasma volume growth and cost improvements through strategic optimization of collection capacity and workforce management.
  • Align workforce optimization initiatives with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Manage operations and develop staff to achieve productivity goals.
  • Define and implement processes for labor planning across 220+ plasma centers.
  • Develop software solutions for workforce management, including labor standards and forecasting.
  • Lead improvements through data analysis and application of Industrial Engineering principles.
  • Identify and deploy best practices for labor optimization and address bottlenecks in the collection process.
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track workforce optimization efforts.
  • Develop solutions for real-time operations performance assessment and decision-making.
  • Own capacity and utilization modeling and planning, developing methodology for forecasting and optimization.
  • Lead and develop a team of professionals in workforce and capacity optimization.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, or a related field; or an MBA with an undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in cost or efficiency improvement roles.
  • Extensive experience in labor measurement, cost improvement, labor forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R for data analysis and model development.
  • Expert level MS Excel skills, including advanced functions and data analysis capabilities.
