About The Position

The Health Administrator for Warrick County is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Warrick County Health Department. The Administrator serves as a liaison between the Health Department, the Indiana State Department of Health, and local businesses, while also developing and implementing health programs and policies.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctoral degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
  • Four or more years of HR experience or in charge of an HR program.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating health service quality and compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate activities of Health Department personnel.
  • Interview, hire, evaluate employee performance, and terminate employees with Health Officer approval.
  • Review activities and consult with supervisory personnel on administrative functions.
  • Coordinate preparation of budget requests and administer department budget upon approval.
  • Oversee accounting and business office functions of the Health Department.
  • Develop and review guidelines for grant proposals and administer funded grant programs.
  • Advise and assign supervisory personnel in various health-related areas.
  • Develop and update administrative and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Participate in committee and board meetings to disseminate information regarding health programs.
  • Promote awareness of departmental programs through public speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate and conduct in-service training programs for Health Department functions.
  • Maintain official records and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Report progress to the Health Officer and Board regarding departmental activities and grants.
