About the position

Aon is seeking a Health Actuarial Analyst to join the Aon Benefit Experience (BenX) team, which focuses on serving clients in the private healthcare marketplace. This role involves financial modeling, data collection, and analysis to support pricing and negotiation processes. The analyst will work collaboratively within a team to provide plan recommendations and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and the potential to transition into a client-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial modeling of medical and dental quoted rates vs. self-insured projections.
• Perform data collection and review for feasibility studies and the annual RFP process.
• Ensure quality control and checking of data.
• Analyze initial RFPs, including actuarial value modeling, to assist with pricing and negotiation.
• Model Defined Contribution plans and make recommendations for self-insured clients.
• Participate in training to enhance consulting skills and knowledge.
• Manage priorities and communicate potential delays effectively.
• Proactively accept new projects as they arise.

Requirements

• 2 years of health and welfare experience in carrier or employer consulting.
• Understanding of health insurance concepts, underwriting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Progress towards ASA designation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience presenting to company leaders or external customers.
• History of working on complex, mathematically oriented projects.
