About the position

Aon is seeking a Health Actuarial Analyst to join their team within the private healthcare marketplace, Aon Benefit Experience (BenX). This role involves financial modeling, data collection, and analysis to support clients in the healthcare sector. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and the potential to transition into a client-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial modeling of medical and dental quoted rates versus self-insured projections.
• Perform data collection and review for feasibility studies and the annual RFP process.
• Ensure quality control and checking of data and analyses.
• Conduct initial RFP analysis, including actuarial value modeling, to assist with pricing and negotiation.
• Engage in Defined Contribution modeling and make plan recommendations for Self Insured clients.
• Participate in Health & Benefits practice sponsored and external training to enhance consulting skills.
• Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment and communicate potential delays effectively.
• Proactively accept new projects as they arise.

Requirements

• 2 years of health and welfare experience in carrier or employer consulting.
• Understanding of health insurance concepts, underwriting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Progress towards ASA designation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience presenting to company leaders or external customers.
• History of working on complex, mathematically oriented projects.
