About the position

As a Health Solutions Actuarial Analyst at Aon in Atlanta, GA, you will play a crucial role in conducting underwriting analysis based on clients' plan history and changes in risk. Your primary responsibility will be to negotiate the best insurance rates possible on behalf of clients, assisting consultants with negotiating renewal ratings and preparing quarterly experience reviews and letters. You will also perform market reviews and benchmarks to meet the evolving business needs of our clients, preparing financial exhibits, analyzing quotations, and preparing specifications for seeking quotations. Additionally, you will arrange and write client reports summarizing quotation results, review group insurance contracts, agreements, and employee booklets, and promote good public relations by developing strong working relationships with clients and insurance company representatives. In this role, you will provide actuarial and group consulting support for mid to large corporate accounts, focusing on analytics to assist Health Strategies Consultants in servicing existing clients and prospects. Your work will be integral to ensuring that clients receive the best possible insurance solutions tailored to their needs. You will be expected to leverage your technical skills and experience to contribute to the team's success and help clients navigate the complexities of health insurance and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct underwriting analysis based on clients' plan history and changes in risk to negotiate insurance rates.
  • Assist consultants with negotiating renewal ratings and preparing quarterly experience reviews and letters.
  • Perform market reviews and benchmarks to meet evolving business needs of clients.
  • Prepare financial exhibits and analyze quotations for seeking quotations.
  • Arrange and write client reports summarizing quotation results.
  • Review group insurance contracts, agreements, and employee booklets.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients and insurance company representatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in a consulting/insurance environment, preferably in group underwriting and group benefits departments.
  • Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Completion of at least 3 SOA exams and working towards completion of ASA designation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in group benefits consulting or actuarial analysis.
