About the position

The Health and Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for evaluating the eligibility of individuals seeking employment or engagement with the department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves analyzing background checks, maintaining secure data, and preparing confidential documents for administrative purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Determine disqualifying offenses for employment or engagement with the department.
  • Analyze state and federal fingerprint-based background checks and criminal records.
  • Process and maintain web-based private data and secure criminal record data.
  • Prepare confidential fitness documents for administrative use.
  • Conduct inquiries into job-related information including criminal records and employment history.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Two years of full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a related technical or program area.
  • Post-graduate education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Master's degree in social work from a regionally accredited program may also qualify.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Health and Human Resources series may substitute for required training and experience.
