About the position

The Health and Human Resources Specialist position within the Office of Community Health & Health Promotion is responsible for managing the Conrad 30/J-1 Visa Waiver program, which facilitates the placement of foreign medical graduates in medically underserved areas. This role involves complex administrative and operational tasks, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements, and providing leadership and technical assistance to improve health outcomes in rural communities. The position requires strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive legal issues and improve program workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Conrad 30/J-1 Visa Waiver program for foreign medical graduates.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal requirements for the program.
  • Administer, monitor, track, and report on program activities.
  • Consult with leadership on complex individual situations affecting the program.
  • Review and recommend improvements to workflow and standard operating procedures.
  • Act as lead worker for specific projects within the Division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Two years of full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a related technical or program area.
  • Post-graduate education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Master's degree in social work from a regionally accredited program may also qualify.
