About the position

The Health and Physical Education Teacher at Y.A.L.E. School is responsible for providing engaging learning experiences in physical education and health, ensuring a safe and supportive classroom environment. The role involves developing lesson plans that meet New Jersey Department of Education's curriculum standards and collaborating with school staff and parents to achieve academic excellence for students with disabilities aged 3 to 21.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning experiences in physical education and health.
• Supervise assigned students in a safe and positive classroom climate.
• Develop lesson plans that meet New Jersey Department of Education's curriculum standards.
• Collaborate with other school staff and parents to enhance student learning.
• Utilize data to drive instruction and address the needs of diverse learners through differentiation.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management and instructional strategies.

Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey Instructional Certificate in Physical Education/Health (Standard, CEAS or CE).
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Physical Education and Health curriculum.
• Exhibit excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Show knowledge of effective instructional strategies and learning assessment.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students and staff.
• Show expertise in using 21st Century based/Web 2.0 technology tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching students with disabilities.
