About the position

The Health and Safety Compliance Specialist at AECOM is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across various client sites. This hybrid role involves conducting inspections, audits, and training, as well as providing technical advice and support to clients. The specialist will work with a diverse team to deliver health and safety consulting services, contributing to the safety and well-being of employees and clients alike.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health and safety inspections and audits at various types of sites to identify potential deficiencies or hazards and determine corrective actions.
  • Understand and apply health and safety-related state and federal regulations (OSHA) and educate clients on their regulatory obligations and compliance.
  • Develop and conduct health and safety-related employee training and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Implement and maintain various OSHA and State required safety and health programs for clients.
  • Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize hazards.
  • Provide on-site health and safety support services for clients.
  • Interpret Federal and State level regulations and provide technical advice.
  • Conduct accident investigations and prepare required accident reports.
  • Contribute to proposals and support existing projects and clients.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in science, engineering, safety, or related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in health and safety regulatory consulting or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8 years of health and safety regulatory consulting experience.
  • Experience conducting lead, mold, or asbestos surveys.
  • Professional certification - ASP, CSP, or CIH, or other equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (OSHA 1910) and EPA 40 CFR 68.
