About the position

The Health Services Director at Wellquest Living is a nursing role responsible for coordinating resident care under the supervision of attending physicians. The position aims to maintain residents' independence and emotional health while liaising with healthcare professionals and modifying treatment regimens to meet individual needs. The director also supervises Care Managers and shares responsibilities for daily resident care, ensuring compliance with medical practices and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resident care under the medical direction of attending physicians.
• Assist residents and families in maintaining physical and emotional health.
• Liaise with hospital personnel, physicians, and health service agencies.
• Modify treatment regimens to meet residents' needs according to established practices.
• Assist in hiring, evaluating, and supervising Care Managers.
• Share daily care responsibilities with Care Managers.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals regarding resident care needs.
• Perform nursing duties including medication administration and treatments as ordered.
• Conduct thorough reporting of resident care information to oncoming shifts.
• Complete documentation and encourage use of the Communication Log.
• Coordinate incidental medical and dental care for residents.
• Assist with physician orders and pharmacy delivery of medications.
• Organize medication storage and delivery for each shift.
• Observe residents and collect pertinent data for care.
• Ensure proper documentation of changes in condition and incidents.
• Assist Care Managers and Medication Aides in their job requirements.
• Respond promptly to resident and staff needs.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff and residents.

Requirements

• Licensed Vocational or Registered Health Services Director in the applicable state.
• Prefer one (1) year experience in a health care environment with cognitively impaired older adults.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for medication delivery.
• Ability to work patiently with cognitively impaired individuals.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with older adults in a healthcare setting.
• First aid training certification.
