About the position

The Health Assistant at Eagleridge Enrichment Program is responsible for administering health services to students and staff in accordance with district policies. This role includes providing first aid, medication administration, and emergency care as needed, ensuring the health and safety of the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individualized assessments prioritizing immediate health needs according to district emergency guidelines.
  • Provide emergency care and assessment to students and staff at assigned school sites according to district policies.
  • Administer medication and monitor for side effects per physician orders and district guidelines.
  • Identify medical responses and oversee care for students with chronic conditions such as Diabetes, Seizures, and Asthma.
  • Initiate emergency care and resuscitative measures according to established protocols.
  • Perform special health care treatments as delegated by parents, including catheterization and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Deliver care with cultural competence to assist students with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
  • Supervise students who are sick or injured and ensure proper documentation of care provided.
  • Maintain health records and ensure confidentiality of student information.
  • Evaluate and verify immunization records and compliance with state laws.

Requirements

  • State/Registered Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician Level 1 Certificate with current CPR Card.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Moderate proficiency in typing and knowledge of computer applications, preferably Synergy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of immunization requirements according to Arizona State Law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a school health setting.
  • Familiarity with pediatric medical conditions and health screenings.
