About the position

The Health Center Resources & Program Specialist position at the City of Huntsville's Human Resources Department involves professional, administrative, and supportive work. The role focuses on coordinating health care services and wellness programs provided by third-party administrators at the City's Health & Wellness Center. The specialist will assist in daily operations, service delivery, and enhancing engagement and utilization of the Center's offerings by employees, retirees, and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination of health care services and wellness programs.
  • Support daily operations of the Health & Wellness Center.
  • Enhance employee engagement and utilization of health services.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators to deliver health programs.
  • Interpret and implement policies related to health and wellness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in professional human resources work.
  • Experience in a municipal government setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with laws involving ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, and Workers' Compensation Programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Experience with Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs in a government setting.
