About the position

The Health Center Resources & Program Specialist position at the City of Huntsville's Human Resources Department involves professional, administrative, and supportive work focused on coordinating health care services and wellness programs. The role aims to enhance engagement and utilization of the Health & Wellness Center by employees, retirees, and their families, ensuring effective delivery of services and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination of health care services and wellness programs at the City's Health & Wellness Center.
  • Support daily operations and delivery of services and programs.
  • Increase engagement and utilization of the Center by employees, retirees, and covered family members.
  • Interpret and implement policies and procedures related to health and wellness programs.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators to ensure effective program delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in professional human resources work.
  • Experience in a municipal government setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Employee Assistance Programs is preferred.
  • Experience with Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs in a government setting is desired.
  • Knowledge of laws involving ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, and Workers' Compensation Programs is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's license.
