About the position

The Health Chief Technology Officer (HCTO) at Connsci is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the health technology vision and aligning it with strategic goals across the Health Portfolio. The HCTO will lead innovations to enhance performance, scalability, and security of health technology solutions, supporting digital transformation and advanced technology integration with core business processes. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, customers, and vendors to identify business needs and recommend scalable solutions, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and leading cybersecurity initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap that aligns with Health Portfolio objectives.
  • Lead innovations that enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and secure Connsci's competitive advantage.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Health Portfolio technology platforms, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
  • Lead efforts to optimize system performance, reduce risk, and enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee disaster recovery and continuity planning.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in health IT, focusing on Health Information Exchanges (HIE), HL7, FHIR, and Meaningful Use.
  • Participate in interoperability workgroups and stay current with ONC's Standards and Interoperability (S&I) Framework.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to identify business needs and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Present the technology roadmap to the executive team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
  • Support proposal development, solutioning, and participate in sales calls with prospective customers.
  • Research and implement emerging technologies focused on digital health, mobile applications, and consumer health devices.
  • Lead initiatives in data interoperability, security, and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, emphasizing data security, privacy, and HIPAA.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard Connsci's data and infrastructure.
  • Build and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years of healthcare IT experience in enterprise architecture, software development, cloud computing, systems integration, or a combination thereof
  • At least 5 years of experience in health information technologies, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDA), and digital health innovation
  • At least 5 years of experience with disaster recovery planning, cybersecurity, and healthcare regulation compliance, including HIPAA

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience leading technology teams in healthcare IT
  • Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as Java, XML, HTTP/S, RESTful APIs, and data integration platforms
