The Meyers Lab at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, part of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a Health Communications Content Creator and Design Consultant. This role is pivotal in developing and disseminating various communication deliverables that include a lab website, resources for patients and clinical staff, and research posters and presentations. The consultant will work collaboratively with team members, employing an iterative design approach that welcomes feedback and encourages the exploration of multiple design variations. The primary focus of the consultant will be to enhance the visibility of the Meyers Lab's work, particularly in the realm of HIV treatment and prevention. This includes spotlighting specific projects funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH). The consultant will be responsible for creating a website that effectively communicates the lab's mission and projects, as well as developing communication strategies that leverage social media for disseminating research findings and updates. In addition to website development, the consultant will design and create materials for both clinical staff and patients. This includes job aids, training manuals, brochures, infographics, and potentially videos and web-based applications. The consultant will also be tasked with creating visually appealing research posters and presentations, ensuring that all materials adhere to branding guidelines and accessibility standards. The role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to producing high-quality work within strict deadlines.
