About The Position
Mercer is seeking a Health Consulting Summer Intern for the West Coast College Program 2025. As a part of our Health Consulting team, you will engage in a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of our clients' health and benefits strategies. Our Health Consultants are dedicated to delivering disciplined and consistent approaches to benchmarking, data analytics, financial management, marketing, compliance, and communication. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the health consulting field, working alongside seasoned professionals who are committed to ethical and transparent business practices. In this role, you will be involved in the collection and analysis of health care claims and utilization data, which includes cost projections and evaluations. You will assist in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of clients, providing valuable support to senior consultants as they review client needs and develop suitable approaches and implementation strategies. Additionally, you will model employee benefits contributions to align with employer objectives and help prepare and write client communications, including reports, spreadsheets, and presentations. This internship is designed for students who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program and are looking to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. You will have the chance to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, enhancing your analytical and quantitative skills while also developing effective communication abilities. The internship will also provide you with first-hand exposure to client work, allowing you to see the direct impact of your contributions on major organizations and their employees.
