The Public Health Institute (PHI) is seeking a full-time Health Equity Program Associate for its Berkeley Media Studies Group (BMSG). This position is designed for a detail-oriented individual who can effectively collaborate with diverse partners, including health department staff, community organizers, and advocates, to advance racial and health equity through narrative change and communications. The Health Equity Program Associate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, engaging with various stakeholders to provide targeted support on communicating about equity issues. This role is remote but requires the incumbent to be based in California and travel for trainings, community meetings, and conferences primarily within the state. The ideal candidate will be passionate about public health and racial justice, possess strong organizational skills, and be comfortable pivoting to address emerging equity issues. Essential duties include supporting the Health Equity Coordinator in building and maintaining professional relationships, assessing complex interpersonal dynamics among partners, providing tailored technical assistance, conducting literature reviews, reviewing communication materials, and coordinating logistics for trainings and meetings. The role also involves project management, writing proposals and advocacy materials, and collaborating with other teams within BMSG. The Health Equity Program Associate will be expected to travel occasionally for meetings and events, contributing to the overall mission of advancing equity in California and beyond.
