About the position

The Health & Fitness Club Membership Coordinator at New Jersey Athletic Club is responsible for promoting the club, selling memberships, and marketing ancillary services. This role involves engaging with prospective members, conducting tours, and following up on inquiries to achieve individual and team sales goals. The coordinator will also participate in community and in-club events, acting as a club ambassador while ensuring member retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Promote the club and sell memberships.
• Market ancillary services to prospective members.
• Conduct tours for potential members and follow up on inquiries via phone and email.
• Set up future appointments with interested prospects.
• Participate in community and in-club events as a club ambassador.
• Assist in retaining existing members who may resign due to lack of use.
• Collaborate with fellow membership coordinators and club staff.

Requirements

• High School graduate, preferably with an associate's degree or above.
• One plus years of sales experience in hospitality, retail, or consumer industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of fitness and wellness industry trends.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with computers and understanding of sales software.
• Detailed data entry skills in member database platforms.
• Ability to accurately complete membership agreements and transactions.
• Physical capability to carry up to fifty pounds and climb stairs.

• Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
