Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient coding across all surgical and medical specialties.
- Ensure accurate coding for academic institution experiences, including burns, transplants, cardiology, pulmonology, neuro, ortho, and spine procedures.
- Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle department to support patient care initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with coding standards and regulations.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of experience with inpatient coding in an acute care setting.
- Proven coding knowledge with RHIT/RHIA/CCS certification.
- Proficient skill with computers and computer systems.
- Demonstrated coding experience with inpatient coding.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Epic & 3M 360 CAC.
- Trauma level I coding experience.
- Academic facility coding experience.
- Three to five (3 - 5) years of coding experience with knowledge of inpatient/outpatient/surgery/emergency room records.
