The Health Information Specialist position at Summa Health System is a full-time role focused on the preparation and management of patient charts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is required. The ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with colleagues and healthcare professionals is crucial. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Physical demands of the job include the ability to exert force to move objects, such as pushing carts and lifting files, as well as the capacity to view a computer monitor for extended periods. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in a Medical Office or Health Information Management Department with Electronic Health Record experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to pass Medical Terminology exam administered by Human Resources.
  • Ability to pass a Typing exam with a minimum of 30 wpm.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
