About the position

The Health Insurance New Business Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the New Business Reform and Non-Reform Sales Unit at Health Alliance Plan. This position involves facilitating sales processes through various applications and systems, ensuring data integrity, and acting as a liaison between sales and underwriting teams. The coordinator will be responsible for generating quotes, managing agent registrations, and maintaining communication with producers and agencies to streamline the quoting process.

Responsibilities

  • Support the New Business Reform and Non-Reform Sales Unit.
  • Utilize the quoting application and CRM application to facilitate sales.
  • Generate quotes within the eSales application and prepare manual quotes in the eCAR system.
  • Maintain data integrity of the eSales application.
  • Assist Producers with inquiries regarding HAP's products and processes.
  • Liaise between sales and underwriting for new group submissions.
  • Analyze new large group requests to determine appropriate HAP/AHL products to quote.
  • Prepare new quotes for submission to underwriting using the SalesForce application.
  • Create and maintain Employer Accounts and Opportunities in SalesForce.
  • Update and maintain contact information as it becomes available.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or two years of healthcare experience in lieu of education requirement.
  • Minimum of one year of healthcare experience.
  • Familiarity with health plan operations and federal and state regulations preferred.
  • Understanding of the sales process for commercial group sales preferred.
  • Understanding of the underwriting process for commercial group sales is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with a broad range of health plan options (HMO, PPO, CDHP) preferred.
  • Willingness to work off-hours and extended hours as necessary.
