About the position

The Sr Health Plan Account Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic plans for health plans and Direct to Employer (DTE) groups. This role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, overseeing a cross-functional account management team, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service. The director will leverage industry knowledge to advocate for products and capabilities that support mutual growth and drive client retention efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as relationship and contract owner for assigned accounts, leveraging industry knowledge to lead the development of client strategic plans.
  • Lead retention efforts for clients across various lines of business, ensuring a coordinated client experience.
  • Conduct client meetings, ensuring adequate preparation and documentation of interactions in Salesforce CRM.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to client contracts and product adoption.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and compliance of client contracts, managing performance guarantees to minimize financial risk.
  • Partner with sales and account management teams on market strategies.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership to the account management team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Identify key relationships necessary for delivering capabilities and driving growth.
  • May manage staffing and performance of a small client engagement team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Health Care Administration, or related area, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years of client service experience in healthcare or insurance, including 6 years in account management in PBM or managed care.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or other related advanced degree.
  • Experience in assigned line of business or market segment (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Health Insurance Marketplace, Employer Markets).
  • Leadership or people management experience.
