About The Position

The Health Program Manager II position is responsible for providing administrative direction for health-related programs, particularly in maternal, child, and family health, nutrition, and disease control. This role involves supervising both supervisory and professional staff, overseeing statewide epidemiology and rural disease investigation units, and collaborating with the State Epidemiologist to develop disease protocols. The manager will also assist local health departments with epidemiological activities and manage data collection systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science, or related field.
• Four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, including two years of providing or coordinating health care services.
• Experience in budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations.
• One year of supervisory experience of professional staff, or equivalent experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Statewide Epidemiology and Rural Disease Investigation units.
• Develop statewide disease protocols for communicable, enteric, respiratory, sexually transmitted, and other diseases.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the epidemiology units.
• Assist local health authorities with epidemiological investigations as needed.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on Nevada epidemiologic response to the CDC in collaboration with the Statewide Epidemiologist.
• Develop a Syndromic Surveillance program statewide.
• Oversee and provide feedback on all data collection systems within the Office of State Epidemiology.
