About the position

The Health Data Science group at Apple is seeking an energetic and dedicated analytics engineer to analyze data and extract insights that will improve health research platforms. This role involves working closely with engineers, data scientists, and other teams to build data platforms that adhere to Apple's privacy and security principles, supporting various health research endeavors, including studies in the Apple Research app.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large amounts of data to extract useful insights for the organization.
• Create reports for a variety of use cases.
• Identify new analytic projects or enhancements to existing ones.
• Update existing data models to better serve analysis needs.
• Support data consumers by answering questions or providing guidance.
• Influence the evolution of the data platform.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience.
• SQL and data modeling skills.
• Programming skills in one of Python, Scala, or Java.
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark).
• Experience with data warehouses (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake).
• Experience with modern orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Oozie).
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with engineers, QA, data scientists, clinical staff, and others.
• Analytical skills, including handling ambiguity and presenting results.
