About the position

The Health, Safety and Environment Permit to Work Specialist is responsible for issuing permits for all CBRE Operations and Project work at the client facility in King of Prussia, PA. This role involves overseeing the permit process from conception to closure, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborating with various stakeholders to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Issue all site General and Supplemental Permits to Work for CBRE scope of work at the client facility.
  • Review and assist Job Safety Analysis and Risk Assessment with Receivers to cover pre-task explanation.
  • Meet with Receivers and other associated parties to discuss steps and procedures during a walkthrough of upcoming work project prior to issuing the Permit to Work.
  • Review and verify with Receivers: lockout/tagout requirements, fire and explosion hazards, health risks, mechanical requirements, access hazards and environmental dangers.
  • Review and verify with the Receiver, hazard precautions and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Verify, understand, and request when a Supplemental Permit (Hot Work, Excavation, Confined Space, Unprotected Work at Heights, Mobile Crane Lift, etc.) is required.
  • Perform unannounced audits/daily job site inspections to areas under the Permit to Work to verify compliance, verify work is being done in a safe manner, answer questions, and stop any unsafe or unauthorized work.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with federal and state regulations, CBRE and Client established company procedures.
  • Report findings, concerns and deficiencies to key collaborators.
  • Close the Permit to Work and conduct the hand back process when all conditions are met and satisfactory.
  • Assist with Permit to Work training and Contractor Safety Training.
  • Act as System Administrator and Maintain CBRE Permit Issuer Registries for CBRE within the Client Electronic Permit to Work System.
  • Participate in the Near Miss and Observation program for the facility.
  • File and track permits.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Health, Safety & Environmental experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, construction and/or facility maintenance preferred.
  • Computer proficiency of Microsoft Office programs.
