About the position

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing site safety support, ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, and maintaining a healthy working relationship with site leadership. This role involves managing EHS data, documentation, and training, as well as conducting inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide site safety support for local EHS Coordinators/managers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with site leadership and management.
• Manage EHS data and documentation.
• Implement EHS policies and programs, ensuring compliance with Vossloh Group EHS rules.
• Conduct site safety and environmental inspections and audits.
• Identify and maintain compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Track and log permitting related to environmental regulations and due dates.
• Support Environmental Consultant to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Conduct EHS training for site contacts as required by regulations.
• Proactively identify hazards and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or related field required.
• Ten years of related experience in Health & Safety preferred.
• Five years of management experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Learning Management Software (LMS) systems.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental health & safety regulations.
