About the position

The Health Sciences Librarian at North Dakota State University (NDSU) will provide leadership and direction in support of health and human sciences, focusing on library instruction, liaison areas, reference, collection development, and research consultations. This role is integral to the Research & Engagement department, serving as the expert on health and human services and managing research and instruction services for various subject areas including Allied Sciences, Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science, Sport Management, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Nursing. The librarian will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to enhance library services and support academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction in library instruction and research consultations for health and human sciences.
  • Manage and develop research and instruction services for identified subject areas.
  • Collaborate with the Research and Engagement team to support students, faculty, and staff.
  • Promote library resources and services related to health and human sciences.
  • Engage in collection development for relevant subject areas.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Library Science (MLS, MLIS, MSIS or MS) from an ALA-accredited program or international equivalent.
  • Experience providing library instruction in person or online.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Allied Sciences, Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science, Sport Management, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Nursing.
  • Experience working in an academic library or research setting.
