About the position

The Health Services Administrator (PHS) is responsible for directing the planning, development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of health programs. This role involves providing leadership in comprehensive health and public health program development, overseeing policy and procedure development, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The administrator will also manage the day-to-day operations of the Division of Public Health Services, develop performance measures, and maintain collaboration with various health entities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the planning, development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of health programs.
  • Provide leadership in comprehensive health and public health program development and implementation.
  • Oversee the development of policies, procedures, and standards for management of public health programs.
  • Prepare reports for formal presentation and provide strategic guidance to departments and programs.
  • Develop, monitor, evaluate, and enforce health codes and performance standards.
  • Integrate culturally relevant, evidence and practice-based approaches to health and public health programs.
  • Develop, implement, and report performance measures based on contracts, grants, and health needs.
  • Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the Division of Public Health Services.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and monitor annual fiscal operating budgets and identify potential funding sources for programs and services.
  • Participate in program negotiations and ensure coordination with internal and external public health entities.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide technical expertise regarding assigned functions.
  • Build capacity and enhance public health infrastructure to maximize resource utilization.
  • Conduct formal presentations on public health issues and represent the Division in public health matters.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or closely related field.
  • Six (6) years of progressively responsible health care administration, public administration or related administrative experience, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • A favorable background investigation.
